City Centre Management
The operation of this body, consisting as it does not simply of councillors but by representatives of all those who are affected by the activity or inactivity in the centre of Wells is one of the more creative examples of truly local government. Recent examples of the committee's work include consideration of funfairs, markets and the introduction of a ban on the public consumption of alcohol as a valuable aid to the police.
