ELECTIONS TO SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL

Tuesday 4 April, 2017

Somerset County Council Logo
Elections to Somerset County Council will take place on Thursday 4 May.

There are 55 seats to be filled when residents go to the ballot box and we want as many people as possible to get involved in the democratic process.

We remind people to make sure they are registered to vote and encourage them to cast their vote on 4 May.

Although this is a County Council election, it is administered by district councils, any questions about the process, including about registering to vote in Wells, should be raised with Mendip District Council on 01749 431590

The deadline for candidates to declare their intention to stand in the elections is 4pm on Tuesday, 4 April. The County Council is keen to encourage as many candidates as possible to stand and anyone who wishes to submit their nomination can find more information on the Council’s website www.somerset.gov.uk/elections. For full information on qualifications and disqualifications on standing see The Electoral Commission website - http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk
