Wells In Bloom School Awards took place at the Bishops Palace on Thursday 4th July. The standard was very high and each winner was presented with a £20 gardening voucher to spend on new plants for their school. The Awards were presented by the Mayor, Cllr Jasmine Browne, who is pictured here with Cllr Denise Denis who organised the Awards, Bishops Palace Community gardener, Jo Stevenson and the Wells In Bloom Schools Award Judges.
The Mayor spoke to young winners about the importance of being outdoors for health and wellbeing and the benefits of growing their own vegetables. Many of them had already eaten the vegetables they grew in their school gardens!
