Whether you're planning a meeting, community event, private function, performance or celebration, Wells Town Hall offers a range of flexible spaces in the heart of the city.
The Town Hall has hosted everything from balls and fashion shows to meetings, weddings, concerts and community events. It also benefits from a public entertainment licence covering music, dancing and alcohol.
Location
The Town Hall is located in the heart of Wells, on the Market Place, and only a short walk from Wells Cathedral, Vicars' Close and The Bishop's Palace.

Room Bookings
For your next event, choose from five versatile and historic rooms. All the rooms are hired either per hour or per session (in a four-hour block).
Room Capacity
- Main Hall - (180 people)
- The Westwood Room - (80 people)
- Parkes Room - (60 people)
- Marshman Room - (30 people)
- Council Chamber - (30 people)
Additional Utilities Hire
You can also hire the following at additional costs:

- Professional audio equipment
- Crockery, cutlery and glassware
- Projectors, TVs and laptop
Charges and Discounts
There is a discount for block bookings and charity events.
There is an extra charge for hiring on a Sunday.
Please note: The Town Hall will be shut on all bank holidays, Christmas Day and boxing day, so no bookings can be taken for these days.

We are a Plastic Free venue
At Wells Town Hall, we are committed to reducing our use of single-use plastics and the impact they have on the environment.
Single-use plastics can have a significant carbon footprint to produce and can take hundreds of years to degrade, contributing to plastic pollution in our soil and waterways.
We have therefore removed single-use plastics from0 our operations and do not permit them at events held at the Town Hall. Items such as cups, cutlery and plates must be reusable or compostable.
