Do you have a booming voice, a flair for performance, a rhyming tongue and a love of local history?
Wells City Council is seeking a charismatic and confident individual to take on the prestigious and historic role of Town Crier, a tradition dating back to the 1300s.
This ceremonial role will see you don the traditional regalia, ring the famous bell, bang the stave and proclaim news, civic messages, and event announcements to the people and tourists of Wells.
This is a voluntary, high-profile position with an honorarium and expenses, ideal for someone who loves the limelight and takes pride in representing our beautiful and historic city.
