    Mayors Diary 28/06/2022

The Mayor and Mayoress were invited to visit Wells RAF Air Cadets for the official change of the Commanding Officer.

This week, 1955 Squadron said a rousing thank you and farewell to Flight Lieutenant Blackburn as he officially stepped down as OC 1955 Squadron after decades in the role.

Flt Lt Blackburn was joined by the Mayor, Cllr Cursley, to inspect the cadets before the Squadron Banner was officially passed to Pilot Officer Currie, the new Officer Commanding for 1955 Squadron. After a few short speeches, the Mayor then presented Cdt Marshall-Smith with a certificate for 'Cadet of the Month' for May before they retired indoors.

The Mayor and Mayoress said 'All the youngsters looked so smart, we felt really proud of them all'.
