The new Mayor of Wells, Cllr Louis Agabani, and the Mayoress Mary-Ellen Nowell complete their first week.

It's been a surreal week.

Thank you to all Councillors and the Town Hall Staff for the tremendous support.

I started the week at the 80th anniversary celebration of Christian Aid and finished the week at the Mendip Classic Car Tour.

Mary-Ellen and I were lucky to have a ride in a Rolls Royce, one of 160 ever made. We selected a lovely powder blue MG, (that's the limit of my knowledge about cars!), for the Mayor’s prize.

We also hosted a visit to the Mayor’s Parlour for the Civic Party - Mace bearers, Town Crier and their wives.

Cllr Denise Denis, my Deputy Mayor, was kind enough to attend Axbridge Mayor Making on my behalf where Cllr Pauline Ham was elected Mayor of Axbridge and Cllr Richard Willis as her Deputy Mayor.

I had the pleasure of meeting a few residents who just wanted to say hello.
