Mayors Diary Week Commencing 16th June

Mayors Diary Week Commencing 16th June

It's been a week full of passion, humanity and love for the Mayor.

Last week the Mayor opened the Refugee Awareness week, hosted by Amnesty International, where he met with refugees from Palestine, Ukraine and Gaza.

On Wednesday the Mayor provided a reading at the re-dedication of St Saviour’s Chapel, also known as Bubwith Chapel, at the Wells Almshouses. The Chapel’s restoration is complete and what a wonderful space it is for the community.

On Friday he attended the Inaugural Sounds Joyful session in the Cathedral. There was so much love and joy.

The weekend started with opening the Dinder Village Fete, followed by the launch of a project to develop a William Turner garden in the Cathedral. Turner was a fascinating Dean of the Cathedral. It is well worth going to see the garden.

Lastly was an emotional evensong service to close the refugee awareness week, in the Cathedral.
