Sudden death of serving City Council Member, Cllr Tony Robbins, is announced
It is with great sadness that Wells City Council announces the unexpected passing of Councillor Tony Robbins.
Cllr Robbins was first elected to Wells City Council in 2007. During his time on the Council he held many roles, including serving as Mayor of Wells 2010-2011 and most recently as Chair of the Council’s Finance Committee.
Tony was a well known, and highly regarded figure within the City, as well as a colleague and friend to many and his loss is felt deeply.
Flags at the Town Hall fly at half mast today and remain as such until the day of Tony’s funeral, details for which will be communicated in due course.
Our thoughts are with Tony’s family and friends at this difficult time.
The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Wells, Cllr Louis Agabani said: “I know I speak for all Councillors and staff of the City Council in saying that the loss of Tony is significant, and felt deeply. Tony has served the community of Wells in so many ways, and the loss of his knowledge, expertise and willingness will be significantly felt. We all send our sincere condolences to his wife Sylvia and daughter Georgie”
