Its been a week of reflection, remembrance and celebrations.
It was the 80th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima on 6th August. Lanterns painted by school children from Hiroshima were lit on the Palace moat.
Earlier on the same day I was joined in the Mayors Parlour by a group of children from Ukraine, who are living in and around Wells. We had a tour of the Town Hall and then discussed various topics.
The Mayoress and I attended the funeral service for Cllr Kate Fry at St Cuthbert's Church, who had been Mayor of Wells back in 1993/94.
We finished the week at the annual Modern Railway Exhibition held in the Town Hall. This exhibition has been running for 47 years.
And finally, a visit to Glastonbury for a day of celebration for their new Mayor Cllr Dr. Michael White. The theme of the event was 'peace' not 'conflict'.
