    Wells Food Festival

    Wells Food Festival

Wells Food Festival ‘Best in Show’ Award 2023 was presented to ‘Homewood Cheeses’ by Charlie Bigham, Chief Sponsor of the event and the Mayor of Wells, Councillor Jasmine Browne. Homewood make cheeses by hand with ewes milk from two Somerset flocks, mainly fresh ewes cheese (curd), halloumi, ricotta and pickled ewes cheese (feta-style).

Wells Food Festival on 13th October 2024 was the biggest yet celebrating high quality products from our local artisan producers, with over 200 traders spanning the Market Place, Recreation Ground, Moat Path and, for the first time, Wells High street was also closed to be filled with food stalls.

Somerset wines were featured again this year, with the opportunity to talk to the vineyard owners and taste their wine and 'Food for Thought' was back, with a dedicated area highlighting current, food related, social issues.

The Children’s Zone had some interactive fun with live cookery classes sponsored by Cooper and Tanner.

The Mayor was delighted so see so many people visit Wells and witness the record number of local food producers who were able to take part this year. The Mayor would particularly like to thank all the volunteers who helped organise and marshal the event.

Another wonderful community day for our City!
