The newly appointed Mayor of Wells, Cllr Jasmine Browne attended the 28th Mendip Vintage and Classic Motor Tour on Cathedral Green on Sunday 19th May, 2024. The sun shone beautifully for the whole afternoon as the Mayor and her Consort, Bill Nuttall, arrived in a 1924 Belsize 14 sports car which turned 100 years old this year and has been beautiful restored by its current owners, Richard and Sue Leworthy of Wells ([pictured with the Mayor and her Consort outside Wells Town Hall) The Mayor and her Consort were accompanied by the Mayor's Cadets from 1955 City of Wells Squadron Air Cadet Corps, Cadet Sergeant Marshall-Smith and Cadet Corporal Colwill who, alongside their fellow cadets helped to marshal the event. The event raised money for the Mendip Vintage Classic Tour chosen charity, The British Heart Foundation and trophies were presented by the Mayor and the event sponsor Ian Studley of Studley Cars.
