    St John Ambulance

    Cadet Toby Duckenfield of Wells St. John’s Ambulance was invited by the Mayor, Councillor Jasmine Browne, to speak at the meeting of Wells City Council on Thursday 24th October.

    Toby impressed the Councillors, Council officers and members of the public with his clear and eloquent account of learning first aid skills, working as part of a team, volunteering at events, developing communication skills and building confidence, as well as mentoring younger cadets (known as Badgers).

    The Mayor’s focus this year is on empowering young people and giving them a voice in our community.. The wonderful adult  volunteers at St. John’s Ambulance Wells support the learning and development of young people, equipping them with First Aid and other life skills in a safe, inclusive, and open environment
