    The New Mayor of Wells

    The New Mayor of Wells

The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Wells
    Cllr Tanys Pullin

As the sun shone on Saturday 20th May, Cllr Tanys Pullin became the 649th Mayor of Wells.

Tanys started off in the catering world which ended up with her running 5 restaurants in London.  After a move to Wells, she ran a Butchers shop and also spent time working for Oxfam. Tanys then moved back into the hospitality business starting the Queen Street Deli and Truly Scrumptious Cakes.

Not content with all of this, in 2005 she decided on a new horizon and went to College to train as a Beauty Therapist, winning student of the year in 2006 whilst helping with PR & Marketing in the family cheese business where she carved a record-breaking cheese sculpture for the Bath & West and was on several TV programs.

Tanys is an Ashtanga Yoga teacher and an accomplished painter with an eye for colour and a flair for design. She loves large scale bold designs and was commissioned to paint one of the Wells Swans. Her love of nature is often the inspiration.

Her greatest achievement is being mum to four boys, all of whom she is immensely proud. Now all grown up, she remains a driving force in providing for them and in supporting their wishes and aspiration.

Tanys has chosen to support Heads Up and Whizz Kidz as her charities during her mayoral year:

    • Heads Up provides a therapeutic environment and a range of services, support and guidance for adults of all ages recovering from or living with mental health needs and other difficulties.  A programme of workshops and activities are available such as pottery, woodcraft and gardening.

    • Whizz Kidz aim to empower young wheelchair users by providing the wheelchairs, equipment, support and confidence-building experiences they need, and campaigning for a more inclusive society.

    Good Luck Tanys!
