It is based in Glastonbury Road opposite the Priory Health Park and called Crandon Springs.

The official opening was conducted by the Mayor of Wells, Councillor Philip Welch who cut the traditional ribbon with a large and untraditional pair of scissors.

He is a member of the Wells Dementia Action Alliance and said: “It was good to hear that Crandon Springs is offering to support the alliance’s work as Covid has brought a growth in mental health problems at a time when our overstretched NHS has had to prioritise dealing with the pandemic.”

Crandon Springs can accommodate 64 residents.

The home also has a hair and beauty salon, a café and their own minibus for trips.

The Mayor is pictured opening the care home with its manager Natalie Deverall.
